Boven het dak van Uytterschout N.V. op nr. 5, is nog een stuk van de overslagkraan (van destijds nog N.V. Zandzuigbedrijf A. Goedhart & Zn.) te zien. Die kraan reed op die betonnen kraanbaan die er nog steeds staat en een plekje schijnt te krijgen in het project Stadswerven. Overige bedrijven aan de zuidkant zijn Bezemer, De Combinatie en De Watergeus. Een paar jaar later zal P.J. Brand het woonhuis met de witte gevel betrekken en zijn scheepsdieselmotorenbedrijf hier in de Maasstraat verder uitbouwen. Op 18 januari 1982 wordt op het uiterste puntje van de Maasstraat door Piet Brand de eerste paal geslagen voor een nieuw bedrijfsgebouw met werkplaats en kantoor. Eerder werd ook al het bedrijfsgebouw uiterst rechts op de foto (huisnummer 8/8A) door de firma Brand als magazijn ingericht.
